Course Information

The HeartCode® BLS Online is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses adaptive learning technology to allow learners to acquire and demonstrate Basic Life Support skills using a personalized learning path that adapts in real time to a learner’s performance. The program is designed for healthcare professionals who need Basic Life Support training for their clinical duties. HeartCode® BLS consists of a cognitive portion that is Completed online.It will includes all standard scientific learning objectives necessary in professional resuscitation courses, but also allows students to develop their critical thinking, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills, and work on reflection and debriefing, which serves to strengthen their overall learning and work experience.

This method of learning provides training consistency and adaptability to different learning styles. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each knowledge check and each Cognitive Assessment Activity. Students who successfully complete the cognitive portion and the hands-on session (skills) will receive an AHA BLS Provider course completion card (eCard), valid for two years.

CORONOVIRUS ALERT

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Infected people have had a wide range of symptoms reported – from mild symptoms to severe illness. If you are sick or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please reschedule your training to avoid exposing others.  Each student will be required to bring and wear a face mask regardless of vaccination status to help protect everyons safety.

All Blended Learning Classes require the online training to be complete before the BLS Hands-On session.  Please click on the hyperlink below to access the online training course. The online portion of training is NOT included in the price of  the in-person  skills practice testing.  You must have it completed PRIOR to class and bring a PRINTED COPY or SCREEN SHOT of your completion certificate.After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing.
